Due to the COVID-19 virus, the Session of St. Andrew’s has voted
to suspend inside activities, not including worship, at our facility.

Our worship service is each Sunday at 10:00.
We have began in-person worship services along side our parking lot and Facebook Live services. Masks and social distancing are required.
As this is a fluid situation, we will continue to monitor local, state, federal, and common sense guidelines. We will update as needed.

The congregation of St. Andrew’s has proven to be great Prayer Warriors, continuing to support, love, and nurture one another. We pray for each other, our community, and the world always, but particularly and mightily during this difficult time as our sense of normalcy changes day by day.

Pastor’s Vacation & Surgery: This is a reminder that Pastor Linda will be taking vacation time starting July 26th she will be returning to the office August 2nd. Please only contact her if there is an emergency during this time.

If there is a Grounds & Facilities issue, please contact Doug Trouten, if there is a Member Care issue, please speak with Judy Bernethy. Thank you for respecting Pastor’s time off.

Julianne Princinsky will be preaching for us August 1st.

Pastor Linda will also be out of the office for Surgery on August 18th and on bedrest afterwards until she is physically ready to come back.

Our guest preacher for August 22nd will be the Executive Presbyter Dan Saperstein.

And our guest preacher for August 29th will be Reverend Zoltan Sutto.

Tuesday Story times and Thursday Devotions will be cancelled while Pastor is out of the office for these events.

Newsletter: The deadline for our next Newsletter is fast approaching, August 11th is when the office needs everything for the Fall Newsletter [covering Sept/Oct] turned in. You can email the office, call, or leave the information you want in the Newsletter in the Secretary’s mailbox at the church.

Together In Fellowship: You are invited to bring your lawn chairs every Sunday in August, whether you choose to worship inside or outside. Following worship, we will gather to enjoy visiting together outside, if the weather accommodates. Bottles of water will be available.

On August 22, that fellowship opportunity will move to Judy Bernethy's for the St. Andrew's Picnic, but otherwise we will gather in the parking lot at St. Andrew's. Looking forward to reconnecting in a relaxed setting!

CONGRATULATIONS to Lily Brown!
The Synod of the Covenant is a Matthew 25 organization. The synod sought out applicants for their Matthew 25 Higher Educational Scholarship who are leaders in their church and communities and who are aiming to help dismantle systematic injustice to the poor. The Synod was proud to have so many students that met these criteria. St. Andrew’s is VERY PROUD that our Lily Brown was one of the recipients to be awarded a scholarship. Way to go Lily!!!!

Bible Study:
will be reviewing lesson #29 “Discerner of the Heart” next week [July 28th].

Flint Eastside Mission:
Donations of clothing, household items, & personal items can be taken to the main building at 1917 Delaware Flint, MI 48506 or brought to our church and Diane Roetter will collect and deliver them. Thank you.

Faith Giving:
St. Andrew’s has long followed a policy of faith giving which is summarized here:
Scripture teaches that God is the owner of all persons and all things, and that we are but stewards of life and possessions. The Session has adopted the concept that the congregation affirms their intent to support the total church program with their prayer, time, talent and financial resources. We, as members of St. Andrew’s, in response to our commitment to Christ’s ministry, commit ourselves to the total church program, financially and through the donation of our time and talent. Please prayerfully consider your commitment to this ministry.

Outreach East:
This is an emergency resource center serving individuals and families with food and other essentials in the Davison, Goodrich, and Otisville area. We at St. Andrews can continue our support by donating deodorant, shampoo, bar soap, toilet paper and diapers. Items may be dropped off at the mission at 425 N Genesee St (810-653-7711 for hours) or brought to St. Andrews on Sunday mornings.

Back-to-School Bash:
July 4th marked the start of the back-to-school bash for Flint Eastside Mission. The children will be needing supplies, no matter where or when they are in their education. We also donate supplies to Outreach East of Davison. This is a joyful thing we do each year, knowing that the children have nice new supplies to start the school year. We are aiming to have the supplies collected for them by August 15th, just bring any supplies you wish to donate to the church and Diane Roetter will collect and deliver them, OR you can call Diane and bring them to her home when she is available (810) 869-4177. The children thank you!

Children’s Church:
There will be no children’s church until further notice.

Multiple Services:
Please remember we now have more options for you to join our services, in-person, in the parking lot, on Facebook Live and on our website! If you join us on Facebook Live, please be sure to leave a “Like” or comment, so we know you are watching with us!
